Bee Attack Halts Cremation Procession, Dozens Injured in Lucknow Outskirts
In a startling turn of events, a solemn cremation procession in the outskirts of Lucknow was thrown into disarray when a swarm of bees descended upon mourners, leaving over 50 people injured.
The incident occurred in the peaceful Rajkhera area, where locals had gathered to bid farewell to 80-year-old Molhe, who had passed away after a prolonged illness. However, as the procession made its way to the cremation grounds, it passed beneath a towering fig tree, unwittingly disturbing a beehive nestled within its branches.
Without warning, the hive erupted into chaos, triggering a frenzied attack on the mourners below. Panicked, people scattered for cover, leaving behind the deceased.
Thankfully, swift action was taken to tend to the injured, with around 50 individuals rushed to the nearby community health center for first aid. After receiving treatment, they were discharged to recover from the unexpected ordeal.
In a bid to fend off the relentless bees, locals came together and set a stack of hay ablaze, dispersing the swarm and restoring calm to the scene.
Despite the disruption, the community remained resilient, and the cremation ceremony proceeded later in the evening.
